Trauma Treatment at the Moses Collaborative

At the Moses Collaborative, we work with people whose lives have been shaped by trauma—whether from childhood, relationships, or other profound experiences. Survivors of trauma often describe feeling disconnected from themselves and others, carrying a deep sense of aloneness even when surrounded by support. Many also struggle with dissociation, self-doubt, self-blame, or an enduring sense of “otherness.” We can help.

Our Approach to trauma care

Yuval Moses LCSW-R, is a certified AEDP therapist and supervisor with more than a decade and a half of experience specializing in trauma treatment. His work has included individual therapy, group facilitation, and clinical supervision for therapists treating survivors of complex trauma. He has worked extensively with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, incest, sexual assault, abusive relationships, and interpersonal violence. Yuval has also led therapy groups specifically for male-identifying survivors of childhood sexual abuse—creating safe, affirming spaces for voices and stories that are often overlooked. All the clinicians at the Moses Collaborative regularly receive trauma training and supervision.

Deliberate, compassionate, and safe re-engagement with the feelings connected to traumatic memories is central to healing.

This process can feel daunting—sometimes even counterintuitive. After all, the mind’s natural reaction to trauma is avoidance. Avoiding reminders feels protective, but it also prevents new emotional learning, leaving parts of the self “trapped” in the past. Healing happens when we gently and safely reconnect with these wounded parts, allowing feelings to emerge in the presence of a trusted other.

What to Expect

Our work together is slow, methodical, compassionate, and collaborative. We move at a pace that respects both your needs and your strengths, creating a safe structure for processing painful emotions and experiences. In therapy, we will focus on:

  • Building safety and trust

  • Supporting your capacity to stay present with challenging emotions

  • Reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been cut off or silenced

  • Undoing the aloneness of trauma through genuine connection

At Moses Collaborative, we hold a deep respect for the resilience of the human spirit. Healing from terrible things is possible—and often requires a safe, devoted, and skilled partner in the process. It is an honor to join survivors on this journey, and we are committed to providing the expertise, compassion, and steadiness needed along the way.
